Construction scam artist steals $3,000 from St. Rose couple
A St. Rose couple was scammed out of $3,000 for home renovation work last month, but the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office has a lead, because the victims persuaded the man to pose for a photo.
The victims responded to a brochure for a company called Renovate International that was placed in their mailbox.
A neatly-dressed man who identified himself as S. Bently showed up at their home and quoted them a price of $40,000 for the work. The couple gave the man a $3,000 down payment and never heard from him again. The phone number for the firm goes to voice mail…..
